【摘要】:ThisspecificationcoversatestmethodandmaximumimpactattenuationforalltypesofinstalledturfplayingsystemsforNorthAmericanfootball.Theturfplayingsystemtypicallyincludesfieldareaswithintheinboundslinesandareasoutsidetheinboundslinesextendingtothesportspecificlimitlinesasdefinedbytheappropriateregulatingbodyorappropriatestandard,orboth.Alloftheseareasareareaswhereanathleteshouldexpectcompliantimpactattenuationcharacteristics.Thisspecificationisintendedtoestablishamethodtoidentifyandreportareaswithinanexistingplayingsystemwhereshock-absorbingpropertiesexceedrecommendedthresholdvalues.Shock-absorbingvaluesfornewinstallationsshouldbelessthanthemaximumthresholdssetherein.Sitespecificconditionsmayexistinwhichchangesinsurfacetypesuchastracksurfacingorcoversoversubsurfacestructures,orboth,arelocatedwithintheextentofthelimitlineswhichimpactcharacteristicsinamannerthatplacetheseconditionsoutsidethescopeofthisstandard.Itisrecognizedthatlaboratorytestingresultsoftenreflectoptimumconditionswhichmaynotcorrespondtotheactualsiteconditions.Therefore,amethodoftestingalongwithamaximumforimpactattenuationofinstalledsyntheticturfplayingsystemsisaddressedherein.Thisspecificationdoesnotimplythataninjurycannotbeincurredifthesurfacesystemcomplieswiththisspecification.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thefollowingprecautionarystatementpertainsonlytothetestprocedureportion,Section9,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
