【摘要】:ThistestmethodisusedtodeterminethesonicvelocityandapproximateYoung''smodulusofrefractoryshapesatroomtemperature.Sincethistestisnondestructive,specimensmaybeusedforothertestsasdesired.Thistestmethodisusefulforresearchanddevelopment,engineeringapplicationanddesign,manufacturingqualityandprocesscontrol,andfordevelopingpurchasingspecifications.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureformeasuringthesonicvelocityinrefractorymaterialsatroomtemperature.ThesonicvelocitycanbeusedtoobtainanapproximatevalueforYoung''smodulus.1.2Thesonicvelocitymaybemeasuredthroughthelength,thickness,andwidthofthespecimen.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
